RACA: Russia’s advertising market grew 11% in Q1 2025
Russia’s advertising market, excluding out-of-home (OOH) advertising, grew by 11% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, reaching 185–187 billion rubles, according to a report by the Expert Commission of the Russian Association of Communication Agencies (RACA).
The “internet services” and “video” segments led the growth, expanding by 12% and 10%, respectively, while “publishing business” (-3%) and “audio” (-1%) saw slight declines.
By total spending, “internet services” remained the dominant segment, with ad investments reaching 108–110 billion rubles in Q1. The “video” segment followed at 67–68 billion rubles, while “publishing business” and “audio” accounted for far smaller shares (5.1–5.3 billion and 4.6–4.8 billion rubles, respectively).
For context, Russia’s total ad revenue across all major segments — video, audio, publishing business, OOH, and internet services — rose 24% in 2024 to 904 billion rubles. The broader marketing communications market surpassed 2.1 trillion rubles, up roughly 25% from 2023.
